ROW80 Newbie

My goal is simple: I need to keep writing... I have a few projects I want to keep working on.

1. Prep for nanowrimo - have one novel in mind for that this month.
2. Row80 checkins twice a week
3. Have a short story I want to finish (have 300 words written so far) May keep it as a flash.
4. Keep journaling (I do 3 pages per day to clear my mind before starting my day)

And spend more time with my husband while working part time. Whew!

The Blank Page

I'm sitting here at my desk in my living room, waiting for my husband to get home from work and trying to think of something to say for my first post. Its about 9:30 pm...dogs are out back...and I have a craving for chocolate and coffee. Makes for a sleepless night but then again I don't get much sleep anyway.

Writing is my life. I'm not happy until I'm typing ideas on my laptop or writing on a blank page in my journal. I need to write!

So I have decided to put this blog to good use as a place to post my writing goals and to share some pieces with you. Also share snippets of my life...or as the dogs may think snippets of what my life should be...with them...ruling the world as part of the great canine empire!  Its difficult living in their shadow...

One of my wip's is titled, "The Faithful Four...Attack of the Ninja Kitties" and was an attempt at a graphic novel script. But it didn't go as well as I would have liked. Misty wanted to bark orders all the time (seeing that she is old...older, I allowed it), Chloe and Riley just wanted to be in the den...sleeping with my husband, and our newest puppy, Pipper, well she has a personality that is bigger than her (being a pit mix that doesn't surprise me), and Zoe my Rott, well we always remember the Zoe...my baby. She was the reason I started to write this script in the first place. She always thought of herself as the alpha...the general. So I played up on it. What a dog!

The idea for it came from Cats & Dogs. Also from the neighborhood cats I would see while Matt and I walked around town.  I would see one walking through the drainage ditches along the side streets and as he would walk through the drain, he would emerge from the other side and scout his surroundings. That gave me the idea that he was doing intel.  So The Faithful Four emerged...and Matt helped make these dogs larger than life.

I love to read fantasy, sci fi, horror. My writing revolves around fantasy or a mix of genres and also love an occasional fanfic. My goal, now that I have more time to write, is to take all of my pieces and put them together for publication. Working on 2 ideas for novels and have a flash fic in progress also. I want to develop the habit again and do something with it.

Oh, the dogs are barking orders at me again. Guess I should bring them in.
